Significant simplifications for sustainability reporting in 'A Competitiveness Compass for the EU'
The European Commission (EC) has announced plans for significant simplifications in sustainability reporting, due diligence, and taxonomy through its 'A Competitiveness Compass for the EU'.
Detailed in an upcoming 'Omnibus proposal' on 26 February 2025, these measures aim to reduce the administrative burden by at least 25% for all entities and by 35% for small- and medium-sized entities (SMEs) by introducing a new definition of small midcaps.
